ideas for adding a special touch to your Christmas gift wrapping
This wrap is a classic example of our collected supplies - or "found treasures." It's a compilation of items we collected, mostly from last year's Christmas cards, to recycle on our gift wraps this year.
Supplies:
Plain white paper for the box
Silver-bordered card - this is actually the top flap from one of last year's Christmas cards. It already had the three small windows cut out and the Seasons Greetings printed on it. The card apart on the fold and glued to the box with double-sided adhesive.
Cat and snowman - these were also on two other cards last year and where glued in the windows using a small dab of hot glue.
Snowman - You can buy a package of these adhesive-backed foam snowmen at Michaels Crafts to use for your projects. Try adding glitter glue to decorate as snowmen and snowladies.
String of lights - this is a 6-inch piece leftover from a doll-house project from years ago. Packages of these lights are available at Michaels. You can use a hot glue at each end to fasten under the card edges, leaving the string free to swing.
So, with a little ingenuity and "found treasures," we created a fun, one of a kind gift wrap at virtually no cost. You can easily use parts of old Christmas cards and by adding a little of this and that, create a very special wrap.
